From the very beginning, our promise has been to bring you shoes that are sustainable, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed, while giving back to women through our support of Restore NYC. That mission is at the heart of everything we do.
As a small business, the journey hasn’t always been easy, and right now we’re facing new challenges. The U.S. has placed a 50% tariff on goods from Brazil, where our shoes are ethically made. I’ve done everything I can to absorb these added costs, but to keep creating the shoes you love, I’ve had to adjust prices on some styles by 15–20%.
This isn’t a decision I make lightly, and I truly hope it will only be a one time change. What I know for certain is that your support over the past ten years has made Alterre possible, and I’m so grateful for this community.
