October Mover & Shaker

Alyssa Gelbard

This month, we’re excited to spotlight our October Mover & Shaker, Alyssa Gelbard, Founder and CEO of Point Road Group, a personal branding firm that helps companies drive revenue and enterprise value.

Founded in 2014, Point Road Group helps organizations strengthen the personal brands of their leaders and teams through strategic consulting, training, and coaching. With an all-female, senior-level team of strategists, coaches, and communicators, the firm works with companies to build stronger brand ambassadors, improve communication, and establish greater credibility and trust.

Alyssa’s work is grounded in a powerful idea: how people show up professionally can directly influence business outcomes. From winning new clients and generating referrals to retaining customers and attracting top talent, every interaction is an opportunity to strengthen relationships and create new possibilities for growth. Through Point Road Group, Alyssa helps leaders and teams communicate their value with greater clarity, consistency, and impact.

Alyssa in Her Own Words

What's your daily mantra?

If I had to pick something, it would be “you got this.”

Best advice you received during your career journey?

"You can do whatever you put your mind to." My mother said that.

Heels or flats?

Heels hands down – but they have to have a platform of some kind. However, since I live in NYC, I always have sneakers with me. Sidewalks can ruin heels fast!

What women in history would you invite for an intimate dinner?

This is a tough one. I’d want to fill a room with so many amazing women – from sports, music, business, art, culture, literature, science etc.. However, at the top of the list would be my mother and grandmothers.

What’s your guilty pleasure?

Seinfeld reruns. The show is still hilarious after all these years later. What amazes me is that I find new things that make me laugh, even though I might have seen the episode many times.

What’s your secret weapon?

I can get along with anyone, regardless of personality, background, profession, education, where they’re from etc. It started when I was very young and had different groups of friends. As an entrepreneur, it helps because you’re involved with all kinds of people – clients, vendors, your team, business colleagues, community – and more!

Any advice for the next generation of boss ladies?

Always push yourself outside of your comfort zone. That’s how you continue to develop and grow. Whether it’s a new type of role, technology, client, speaking engagement etc. In the short term it might require more time, energy and effort (and may even cause some stress), but once you accomplish whatever it is, it’s incredibly gratifying and you’ll be a stronger person and leader because of it.

Let’s toast to your success. Drink of choice?

Tito’s and soda with a few limes
